Happy Birthday, Mr. Präsidentschafts-Kandidat!
Barack Obama wurde am 4. August 47 Jahre alt. Anlass für mich, ihn zu meinem persönlichen Wunschpräsidenten zu erklären und vorab etwas klarzustellen:
John McCain (71) und die Republikaner haben ihn in der vergangenen Woche massiv attackiert. Sie verglichen ihn mit der Skandalnudel Paris Hilton. Sie warfen ihm vor, dass er sich von 200 000 „kriecherischen Deutschen“ feiern ließ. Sie verspotteten ihn als eine Art „Befreier“, der wie Charlton Heston als Moses in dem Bibel-Film „Die zehn Gebote“ das Meer geteilt hat. Und sie erklärten: Er ist ein Superstar. Aber er hat keine Inhalte, sondern nur leere Worte.
Wirklich? Was sind dann die Vergleiche mit einer blonden Hotelerbin oder mit einem toten Schauspieler, der übrigens Republikaner und Kriegsbefürworter war? Eine Strategie, um Amerika aus der Wirtschafts- und Kriegskrise zu führen? Oder leeres Wahlkampf-Geschwätz?
