Pelosi Daughter Making McCain Film

Aug. 25, 2008: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi speaks at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Almost more than the convention of Barack Obama, the 2008 DNC is like a party given for and by Nancy Pelosi.

The House Majority Leader is a ubiquitous dynamo, an Energizer bunny pushing the Democratic platform, explaining and extolling the Obamas, making everything seem right in the world to anyone who might be worried or have Read more »

Grabenkämpfe bei US-Demokraten: Skepsis im eigenen Lager

Obama; Clinton; dpa

Before the convention, the ailing liberal icon had made only one public appearance since undergoing surgery for a brain tumor on June 2.

Sen. Barack Obama says this week’s Democratic National Convention would help give voters a better “sense of who I am” — and Obama could get some unexpected help.
Plans are in place for Sen. Edward Kennedy to make a dramatic appearance Monday on opening night — subject to whether he is up to making the trip, a top Obama campaign official said.

The Massachusetts Democrat had surgery June 2 for a brain tumor.

Top Kennedy staffers are in the convention city, and the Obama campaign official who is helping orchestrate the program tells CNN that he has been instructed “to presume [Kennedy] is coming and make preparations on the basis of him coming.”

The official program for Monday night calls for a videotaped message from Kennedy, Read more »
