Hartz-IV: Helmut Schmidt watscht Westerwelle ab


Die scharfe Kritik an Vizekanzler Guido Westerwelle reißt nicht ab. Altkanzler Helmut Schmidt bezeichnete den FDP-Chef nach seinen Hartz-IV-Attacken als Meister der Wichtigtuerei. Auch aus den Reihen der eigenen Regierung gibt es Breitseiten. Westerwelle legte unterdessen abermals nach.

Schauplatz der kurzen, aber bissigen Schelte des Altkanzlers ist die ARD-Sendung Beckmann. Der frühere Bundeskanzler Helmut Schmidt (SPD) nennt Westerwelle am Montagabend einen “Meister der Wichtigtuerei”. Er bezieht sich dabei auf die von Westerwelle ausgelöste Sozialstaatsdebatte.

Sein Vorwurf: Westerwelle führt Gefechte mit einem Niemand. Denn es gebe niemanden, der dem Volk Wohlstand versprochen habe, ohne dass man dafür arbeiten muss, so Schmidt. Der FDP-Chef und Außenminister rede “gegen jemanden, den es gar nicht gibt”. Den Wohlfahrtsstaat lobt er als eine herausragende kulturelle Leistung des 20. Jahrhunderts.
