Lebanese opposition member killed in car bomb
Lebanese officials say a member of a pro-Syrian opposition party has been killed in a car bomb explosion near Aley town, southeast of Beirut. The victim Saleh Aridi of the Lebanese Democratic Party was a top advisor to Druze leader Talal Arslan. It was the first political assassination in about a year in Lebanon and came less than a week before planned reconciliation talks among rival Lebanese factions.
