Für Preisverleihungen und Hollywood-Galas interessiere sich die US-Schauspielerin Julia Roberts heute nicht mehr: “Das war früher. In meinem vorherigen Leben als Julia Roberts, der US-Filmstar,“ sagte die 40-jährige Oscar-Preisträgerin der Zeitschrift In. Die Frage, wer sie heute sei, beantwortete sie so: “Mrs. Danny Moder, eine ganz normale Ehefrau und Mutter.“

Sie kritisiert auch den Modewahn in Hollywood. Sie finde “diese Hysterie und diesen Druck, selbst beim Brötchenkauf perfekt aussehen zu müssen, lächerlich“.

Sie habe längst andere Prioritäten: Als Mutter von drei Kindern habe sie “ohnehin keine Zeit mehr, stundenlang vor dem Spiegel zu stehen und das perfekte Outfit zusammenzustellen“, betonte sie.

Insgesamt hat Roberts heute ein distanziertes Verhältnis zu ihrer Hollywood-Karriere. Ihr sei klar geworden, “dass mein Leben in Schieflage geraten war. Ich war zu lange rastlos unterwegs, von einem Dreh zum anderen, hatte immer nur die Arbeit im Kopf“.
