Die CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion will möglichst rasch einen Beschluss über Steuerentlastungen zum 1. Januar 2009 in Milliardenhöhe verabschieden. Es werde dazu noch vor den Sommerferien einen Fraktionsbeschluss geben, kündigte Georg Brunnhuber, Vorsitzender der CDU-Landesgruppe Baden-Württemberg, in der “Passauer Neuen Presse” an. Dafür gebe es in den Landesgruppen der Union im Bundestag eine breite Zustimmung. Die Union plane Entlastungen für Berufspendler und Familien, die noch vor der Bundestagswahl im Herbst in Kraft treten sollen, sagte Brunnhuber.
Dabei gehe es um die Wiedereinführung der Pauschale vom ersten Kilometer an und die Erhöhung des Kindergelds und Freibetrags für Familien. Die Steuerausfälle für den Bund schätzt der CDU-Politiker auf rund zwei Milliarden Euro. “Wir sollten uns nicht zu Tode sparen und deshalb am Ende die Wahl verlieren”, sagte Brunnhuber. Quelle: AFP
